This triggers more users to shop with 92% saying they take action after watching a TikTok video.

The TikTok application was originally designed to record and share short videos with the top trending music. TikTok has been given a greater opportunity and opening up a new world for buyers and sellers alike to promote on this ever so popular social site.  This was a very smart move as they realised that whilst you can promote your business and sell on there, in return they are growing their own brand at the same time which brings other opportunities for the TikTok brand so it’s a win-win situation.

How do I start selling through TikTok?

 

It’s a very simple process. First, ensure you’re signed up to TikTok, you do not have to meet follower or viewer requirements in order to start selling, you can have a brand-new account and start selling straight away. Second, you’ll need to collect some documents to prove legitimacy, things such as a passport and company certificates, company registration number. The application will be looked over within 1-2 working days before sending out the results directly to your email.

There is no set up or listing costs applied, only a percentage for commission will be applied. The first 90 days will be at a lower commission cost of 1.8% after the first product has been uploaded onto the shop, it will progress to 5% for the commission on sales that occur after this timeframe. This is still much lower commission rate to other selling platforms, which ensures you are able to maximise your profit margin or reduce your selling price to drive more sales.
